Hi folks,
It looks to me as if I never had the extragalactic HII data.
But the .TDF Oliver supplied for the data references his sources
nicely, so I had no trouble in downloading it. If you grab
http://www.projectpluto.com/wolf_ray.htm
again, you'll get the 'exhii.dat' file this time.
I've heard from one other gent who also uses "Get A2.0 data
from CD-ROM", is asked for a disk, and then gets an "open file"
dialog. This is baffling me. I can't come up with _any_ good
reason for that to happen; Guide ought to just extract the data
from the specified disk, then stop. Still looking into it.
David, I'd not heard of the "re-arranged" A2.0, put onto
ten CDs instead of eleven. It looks to me as if with CD-Rs,
which can hold slightly more data than CD-ROMs, you could fit
A2.0 onto _nine_ disks. But Guide gives only disk numbers from
the A2.0 layout. As I was unaware of the alternative format,
Guide just asks for the "right" disk; it doesn't put up a
file dialog.
I also have no ideas on the odd "disappearing moon" problem.
If anyone has clues to offer on this puzzle or the A2.0 one
(such as "the bugs happen when I do _this_, but not when I
do _that_"), please let me know!
Some days, I get the bugs; other days, the bugs get me.
Today has been in the latter category.
