About the same happens here (zoom level 7, 2 degrees, but not at level 8). I
tried an animation. When approaching the maximum of the eclipse, the Moon
disappears and some time after maximum the Moon suddendly comes back. In the
interval, only the sun is visible, although it's eclipsed part is black, and
stars normally behind the Moon at that time are visible on the screen.

The same happens with the 11 aug 1999 eclipse. In this case, there is no
more Moon for 24 minutes, centered on the maximum of the eclipse.

Guide knows where the Moon is ("go to" works fine) but a right click and
several "Next" never reaches the Moon.

I have tried several display options (shaded, line figure, bitmaps, with or
without features, labels or grids) but the behaviour is always the same.

Setting earthshine to 100 make a bright new moon, but it still disappears.

Using 22 sept. 2002 version.


With 29 mar. 2003 version, even the occulted part of the Sun is visible.
Looking at the screen, there is obviously no Moon in the field. The 24
minutes of "absence" are the same as with the previous version.
