I had similar problem (on a different application) with mouse wheel on a
Logitech (wired) optical mouse. The fix was to download and install the
latest driver for my particular model mouse.

Check your manufacturer's site first. If no luck, try a Google search using
the manufacturer's name and the words "mouse" and "driver".
