Aperture circle trouble

Bill J Gray May 9, 2003

Hi Larry, Anthony,

Part of what's going on here is not unexpected. After I revised
Guide to allow more than one aperture circle, I changed the button
in "Ticks, Grids, Etc." to read "Add Aperture Circle". It does just
that: it doesn't edit _existing_ aperture circles, it adds _new_ ones.
The only way to edit the existing circles (change their sizes or
colors or turn them off) is to right-click on them, then on "display".

The part that shouldn't happen is clicking on them and not getting
anything, even after using "next" to evade nearby stars. I just tried
to get that misbehavior, zooming in and out and trying various display
settings in hopes of getting the same problem. So far, I've had no
luck with this. If anyone has had trouble clicking on aperture circles
and has spotted any pattern ("it always misbehaves when I do _this_,
but works just fine when I do _that_"), I'd very much like to hear
from you.

One long shot: are you clicking on the rim of the circle? (This is
what you should do. Clicking on the center of the circle won't work
as well, unless you click "next" a lot of times.)
