Hi Lawrence.

Each circle represents the exact location you stored in the mpc.log file.
If you right click on the circle it will give you more information on the
position and time of mid-observation or again the time stored in the
mpc.log file. I often take a look at the positions of the circles plotted
against a trail for the asteroid to judge the consistency my
observations(zoom in to get the circles spread out across the screen). If
one measurement is out of line I go back and measure it again or throw it
out before reporting to the MPC. After a while of observing you can get
quite a screen full of circles and have to start a new mpc.log file to
clear the display.
