Yes, it's quite possible to get Guide and/or Charon to use A2.0
(in its "original" binary form from USNO, as copied from CD-ROM
or downloaded via ftp) from the hard drive. Information about getting
Guide to do this is at

Once you've got Guide rigged up to display A2.0 data in this
manner, Charon will follow suit, as described at the above URL.
This may be a good point at which to mention that I've started
up a little project to get A2.0 CD-ROMs out into the world, on
a "copy them and pass them along" basis. You can now get
A2.0, in its eleven-CD form, then copy it to your own CD-Rs
and hard drives; the only "cost" is that you will then be asked
to pass the original CDs on to the next interested citizen. See
