thanks for your fast reply. I just realized that too. But to my
disappointment I ralized that the object was only a 15.5 mag star from
the USNO-A 2.0 catalog (not in GSC dataset). Further search showed
that this comet is apparently lost.
It looked like a comet because I stacked several images with
Astrometrica with the apparent motion which Guide supplied. But I just
measured 2 further sets of images 2 hours apart and nothing moved.
But why didn't use Astrometrica it as a reference star ...
