I had the same kind of problems with sa2.0 couple of weeks ago.
You really must put a \ at the end of the path. I just (re)tested that
before this reply. But at first it still didn't work. I've had that
before and this is why:
when i click on guide.dat in windows explorer it opens the file in
MS-excel
(on my computer). After editing the A2_path, saving the file as a
textfile from excel will put the line in quotes. This can not be seen
in excel.
Opening the file in WORD or with EDIT (in DOS) will show you wether or
not
there are ".....". If so: remove them.
