Charon and the mouse
Bill J Gray Feb 7, 2003
Hi Lawrence,
Hmmm... any idea what may have changed between "it works"
and "it doesn't"? Any hardware differences?
If not, the likely culprit is that you accidentally changed the video
mode in Charon's "settings" menu. This is worth testing in any case,
since it's usually the case that, out of the seven supported resolutions,
at least one is not properly handled by any given video card. Try the
others, and you're apt to find one that works.
Failing that, adding a '-;' switch to the command line, i.e.,
charon (normal parameters) -;
_sometimes_ will get one of those modes to work properly. It tweaks
an internal graphics function; I'm not clear as to exactly how, but
it sometimes will evade hardware problems (and sometimes it causes
them, which is why I can't just make it a default.) Between seven
modes and no '-;' and seven modes with a '-;', you'll (usually) find
one that works.
