The "digital lunar atlases" do offer such advantages as handling of
libration and illumination (you get a map with the moon tilted and lit
up the right way) and rescaling.

Major disadvantage (at present) is that none of them are as detailed
as, say, Rukl's _Atlas of the Moon_. Give us time on that one; the
Clementine map used in Guide 8 actually _does_ approach that level
of detail, at least in middle latitudes, and I could see the possibility
of a decent base map being made from CLA, LOPAM, and Apollo
imagery. The paper lunar atlases have held up better than paper
sky atlases, but they'll be getting competition in years to come.
