No. The idea is not Guide turns out a image acquisition but to talk with
a sw that makes the acquisition. ASCOM is a very interesting initiative.

If you have a LX200 you can use two serials simultaneously. In ASCOM you
can cascade scope control through several apps in an integrated manner
using only one serial.

As I told before, Guide can command through ASCOM a sw like MAXIM to
shot several images looping a specific mosaic or generate script lists (
As The Sky does ).

Certainly is quite good. My point is that Astrometrica is a must and it
would be better (I think ...) to Bill not widen so much the abrangence
of Guide. It seems better to me to integrate with other pieces of sw...

The main point for me is : Integrate with other apps that makes things
work in automated telescopes (Image Acquisition, Automated Scripting,
Astrometry and Photometry). This is the way to go in my opinion.
