Hi folks,
Lawrence, sorry, no, there is no option to set a lower _and_
upper mag limit for asteroids. Nor is there one to set RA/dec limits.
(For the latter, I'm more apt to have a selection between "on-screen"
and "full-sky". You would just have to zoom in/out and resize the
screen to get a given chunk of sky. I've been giving this, and
some other "configurability" options, a bit of thought now and then:
http://www.projectpluto.com/future.htm#data_tables
I think it could be a really powerful way of doing things, and
may turn my attention that way... once scope control is, well,
under control.)
One slightly helpful thing you might try is this. A while back,
I posted Yet Another "test" Update at
http://www.gwi.net/~pluto/guide8b.zip
I did this in part because I'd gotten an inquiry about Polish
support in Guide, and added a few lines to enable that possibility
(Guide was showing some accented characters incorrectly in that
language), and in part because of some small enhancements to
the TDF system, suggested by Oliver Kloes. Oliver and the
gent in Poland attempting the translation needed the above file
for test purposes... none of which, I realize, is relevant to the
question you asked.
What _may_ be relevant, though, is that with the above, you
can fire up a list of asteroids (or comets, or stars) and click on
the "magnitude" title (or RA title, or dec title, or "name" title)
and Guide will sort the table on that field. Click on the same
field twice, and you go from ascending to descending order.
Not quite what you're looking for, I realize!
