Guide8 updates.

Hi Bill.
I use the full MPCorb datebase. Also I freqently download the smaller
updates called Soft02CMT.txt and Soft02Unusual.txt.
When I select a full list of current asteroids to say,18.0 magnitude
from the menu the ones from the small updated text files sit above
the start of the main belt ones, above No1 Ceres. This is very helpful
indeed as it saves me scrolling down for them or searching.

However since the 29th May 2002 Guide8.zip update all other Guide8
updates will only show the small paragraph of data which does not
include the latest lower paragraph from the MPCorb comments.

An example for today after installing the latest update only one
cross appears and only the data from Guide8 without MPCorb comments
data.MPCorb is checked.I re-started the PC also.
The asteroids No 1685 Toro and 2002XO14 were two showing no extra
cross for the selected MPCorb data.
I often get the two crosses for the asteroid in question which I can
live with as more recent fast movers are often seen to have shifted
many arc minutes apart for some of the recent NEO's, PHA's. MPCorb
has obviously been updated from more recent astrometric measurements
which is to be expected.
I unzipped the 29th May 2002 update back into Guide8 overwriting the
later two updates today and all is fine again.
Is there anything I need to put into Guide.dat.

Best wishes John.
