Hi Josch,
This will be a two-part job.
First part will be to straighten out the "spaghetti code" currently
controlling scopes so that I can work on one thing without (usually)
breaking three others. That will take me a while... once I've done
that, though, I'll post a "test update" that will not contain much in
the way of blatantly-obvious new features; it will be really just a
_test_ to ensure that the revised system works.
Then I get into the fun part. Patrick Wallace, the author of TPoint,
has an excellent page on the subject of the theory underlying TPoint:
http://www.tpsoft.demon.co.uk/pointing.htm
As it turns out, TPoint and MEC are just about mathematically
equivalent (not surprising; we looked at the same piece of physics
and derived the same mathematics). However, Wallace's discussion
of it made me realize that I had made the entire process more
awkward than it really had to be, and has given me some good
ideas for making the whole process much simpler. I'm really looking
forward to re-tackling this problem, now that I have a much better
grasp of what's _really_ going on here.
