lunar notes

there was a fascinating show on one of the science
channels the other day about the moon, theory that it
was formed by collision, how its motion helps keep the
earth on axis, thus in a sense controlling the climate,
and how it is receding at 1.5 inches per year. by the
year +30340 moon would be ~ 45,500 inches further out in
orbit from earth if the recession remains ~ constant,
does Guide account for this recession, or is it built into
current lunar orbit models ??

It will wander slowly around in the expected circle, complete
a loop, start out for the next loop... then keep going until,
by +30340, the polar axis lies in the plane of the ecliptic,
sort of the way that of Uranus does today. (A gyroscope helps too,
of course!)
