Hi,

I've struggled some more to figure out the oddities of the tdf format, and I've
found a major source of my errors: I have used 0 as the beginning position for
text in the data file (don't ask why...), and it was this mistake which gave me
the funny faces and the ill-behaving labels. Having adjusted the beginning
positions to 1, all is well!

I had to do some trial and error until I realized that the offset values had to
be set at specific columns of the tdf file (starting position of text should be
at col 5 and the length at col 9), and although that could have been better
documented, it works. So, I will continue the work on my WDS base.
