I get the same results when plotting the the trail, of the iss or other satellite's that will transit the moon, the trail goes behind the moon While the trail goes behind the mon, the satellite goes in front of the moon.
Here's what I think is going on.
With the sun or moon, when object is drawn on the screen, it takes up more of the screen, then say a star , thus it blocks out the trail.
Bill will find a way to fix it :)
