Astro-Physics troubles

Bill J Gray Aug 14, 2002

Hi folks,

I didn't get a reply from Astro-Physics about the oddity in their
command protocol. But I _did_ get an e-mail from Chris Marriott about
it, confirming that yes, AP has one byte slightly wrong (from the
viewpoint of LX-200-compatibility).

I've revised the "in progress" version at

http://www.projectpluto.com/new.htm

to reflect this peculiarity; there is a new "Astro-Physics" option
in the Scope Control dialog.

Also, the guider chips for the new SBIG cameras are shown in their
proper places, as are the dual chips of the MegaTEK camera.

The only other addition to the "in progress" version is that the
"realistic" mode (selected in Display... Backgrounds) is much more
realistic than it once was. I gotta work on the intensity and color
balance, but it's much better than the previous "realistic" mode.
