Starlight XPress/SBIG cameras
Bill J Gray Aug 13, 2002
John, about the Starlight XPress cameras: I stand corrected. I'd
thought there were two different cameras involved here, one with pixels
half the size (and double the number in each dimension) of the other.
That's why the CCD Dialog lists a "Starlight XPress MX916 HiRes" followed
by a plain "MX916".
So... select the "HiRes" option and 2x2 binning, and you'll get the
correct result. The next update will include only a "MX916", with
the small pixels (going to the right size when binned 2x2).
It will also show properly sized guiding chips for the new SBIG
cameras. SBIG has switched from the TC-211 guiding chip to the
larger TC-237. The only holdup here is finding out the separation
between the main chip and guider chip; I'm waiting to hear back from
SBIG on this point.
