Guess I did skip a step or two there...

Go into Extras... Toggle User-Added Datasets, and look for one called
"Satellite Path". Click on it, and turn it On, and possibly turn "labels
on".

You can then zoom in on that part of the world (when in eclipse mode)
and see symbols indicating the points mentioned in 'sat_path.tdf'.

One minor hint: if you're already in eclipse mode, Extras will have
no Toggle User-Added Dataset. You can either adjust the dataset
_before_ entering eclipse mode, or you can just hit Alt-F9. The hotkey
works to get the list of datasets, whether you're in eclipse mode or in
the "normal" star charting mode.

Strictly speaking, you don't even need to do that, because the dataset
defaults to being on. Just go into eclipse mode (most easily done by
hitting ':' to get the nearest solar eclipse), then zoom in on the area in
question. The symbols will pop up on the map.
