Hi Glen-

You may be running into a limiting magnitude "ceiling" with respect to your settings in the "Data Shown" menu. I don't have ver 7 loaded up here at home but you can try setting the magnitude for displayed comets a bit lower and see if that helps or perhaps just zoom the view in a few levels and see if the comet is displayed.

I'm still using Guide Version 7.0.

I entered a new comet using the Edit Comet Data function
under Extras, and it is now in that list. However when I
use the Go To function and select comets, my new comet is
not in that list.
