I've noticed lately that the "Go to an NGC object" function
in my version of Guide 8 no longer works properly. Guide takes me
to a blank area of sky instead of the object I'm looking for. When
I first installed Guide 8 a few months ago, I'm sure this function
worked O.K. Funny thing is that when I tried to reinstall Guide 8
from the CD, the problem was still there. I'm currently using the
May 4, 2002 version of Guide 8, although this problem was present
with the previous update also. I suspect this problem is specific to
my computer, since no one else has reported a problem with the
Go to an NGC object function. It seems that Guide can't find a file
that it needs or that a file may have become corrupted (I experienced
a similar problem last year with asteroids). Everything else with
Guide 8 works great.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?
