Earth View

Lately I tried to add a "country border" overlay to a satellite image and
thought Guide would perfectly fit to produce this but I didn't succeed.
First I tried to match my location to the one of the satellite (METEOSAT 7)
and looked at nadir. Earth popped into view but the "details" where quite
different from the "geo mode" and not even fit with the underlying
bitmap(s).
Then I tried geo-mode itself with the location in a position that METEOSAT 7
was just in zenith. This looked right at a first glance but the resulting
European borders didn't fit to the real image, probably because the
different distortions in the spherical geometry between the real 38000km
orbit and the "flat on" view in geo-mode.
Is there any possibility to obtain a detailed "real" image for such an
application?
Best regards, Robert
