I look forward to that development. In my innocence I assumed it
would be an easy matter to add a regular scope query routine.

This is also and excellent idea. Another option could be to
display 'jumbo' digits (easy to see from the scope) showing the RA
and Dec degrees to move to reach the target (ie an 'error' reading).
This system is used in Meade's Magellan 1 DSC (and probably others.
