Re: Project Pluto Users Website

Hi Joe.
I maybe wasn't really clear about this : you could browse the ENTIRE
site without registering ! Of course that would be a very bad idea to
force registration to enable that, I agree with you. Registration is
only needed in order to use Private Messages on the site, and editing
your preferences regarding options on the site. For the time being,
some people wanted that option, you could even post directly to the
forums without registering.
I said it before but I don't thing anything is wrong with the mailing
list, except privacy. As for the immediate posting, it is not true
for me at least : I posted a message on the 16th, it appeared one day
later. Usually, the message need one hour to appear for me on the
Yahoo interface (I don't use the mail system). The posts appear on
the site forums immediately, always.
Once again, the goal of the site is to increase the community
activity : I feel it shouldn't only be bugs report and questions to
Bill. As we all share one hobby and we like Guide so much that a
community exists, why not try to strengthen the bonds between us by
meeting on the forums and talk about whatever we want ? And post
articles related to astronomy, etc ?
