[guide-user] Re: Scope tracking

Jean-Noel,

I am fully acquainted with the techniques on avoiding pole holes.
However, my scope is equatorially mounted, and I am not interested
in the difficult task of changing its orientation just for a
single satelite pass, to say nothing of re-orienting it to the
north pole for normal use! I'll simply wait for the next few orbits...

I am interested in this KAF CCD camera you spoke about. I built a
Cookbook TC245 derivative, but made my own 16 bit A/D which meant
I had to write ALL the software to drive the thing. Have you built this
KAF device? How much did it cost you? How many hours do you estimate
it took? I was very surprised at the cost shown on the web page you
provided. Could it really be this cheap? I go to Paris every two
months and am tempted to look into it!

Cheers
