Odd IC numbers
Bill J Gray Apr 14, 2002
Hi Joe,
Thanks for the heads-up on this. Guide is apparently confused in
cases where the NGC-IC catalogue is giving separate components.
That is, the designation NGC 3023 is actually applicable to _two_
galaxies, not one. (This isn't like other NGC cases where each
component got a separate letter, such as "NGC 61A" and "NGC 61B".
Guide handles those guys just fine... it's the rarer cases where two
separate objects get the same, identical designation that confuses
it.)
However, this is a fixable error. I've done so, and the next version
I post will handle this oddity correctly.
Thanks! -- Bill
