Hi folks,

I've just posted yet another update. This one is more of a bug fix
than anything else. The 'Quick Info' bug (thanks to Paul Gabriel and
John Greaves for helping me track that one down) has been vanquished.
The 'Go To Comet' error, where you would sometimes end up at the
wrong comet, has been fixed; instead of getting the usual list of
comets in that dialog, you get one resembling that from "Tables...
Current Comets". This is actually an improvement as well as a bug fix.

Aside from this, the only improvement is that you can set the colors
used in Help/Tables/More Info. Those disliking the DOS-like colors I
chose can revert to more Windows-like ones quite easily now.

Also, I (finally) got around to mentioning the existence of translations
of the Guide user manual into Japanese and Italian. Look at the "History"
page, and you'll see links to these... in PDF form, which makes for
quite a nice manual when printed. My apologies to Masaki Kouda and
Giuliano Pinto for taking so long to get these posted and linked. I
am pretty sure that Guide users in those countries will be very happy
to see these.

Bill, for getting MPC ephemerides plotted on-screen, the simplest
solution is probably this one:

Despite the name of the link, it actually allows display of ephemerides
from assorted services, including the Minor Planet Ephemeris service,
NEODyS, and JPL's Horizons. Nevertheless, the generic "label/mark
this point" does have its advantages. You can do this with an overlay,
but it would be nice if symbols were part of the overlay system (i.e.,
instead of/in addition to marking a point with a piece of text or a pair
of crossed lines or a circle, it would be nice to click on a point and
have a symbol "dropped" there.) That actually might not be too difficult
to do... toughest part would be setting up the symbol selection.

An alternative would be to have the ability to click on a point and add
a line with its RA/dec to a text file. The text file would then be shown
as a user-added dataset. This might have some advantages to it,
in terms of being more flexible and user-configurable.

Andrew, about different magnitude systems: I must admit that I
didn't realize that VT had any advantages whatsoever over Johnson V.
I thought Tycho used that because it was what the detector could do,
rather than that it reflected a for-real _improvement_.

(Pause to scratch head) In theory, I guess there would be no objection
to having Guide show stars in a user-selectable magnitude band,
VT, BT, Johnson B or V or R. This could only be done for Tycho and
Ax.0 stars. For the former, VT and BT come from the catalog, but
the other three can be computed with decent accuracy. For Ax.0,
R and B are provided, and the others can be computed with somewhat
dreadful accuracy (simply because the R and B are garbage; as the
author of A2.0 states, "Photometry for the southern hemisphere in
A2.0 is hosed!")
