I recall that you can display a cross in Guide 7 in the center of the view, but I
believe it gets erased or moved if you change viewing coordinates. It would be
nice to have something more persistent.

In fact, it would be nice to be able to plot multiple reference marks. Often we
are following several newly-discovered asteroids. While one could enter the
elements (if available), it's simpler to use the MPC's predicted positions. The
CCD overlay can then be used to plan how to capture the most objects in the
fewest images.
