Just a short note to anyone who notices that I posted a 'new version'
of the Guide software without announcing it: I got an inquiry from a
gent who is translating Guide into Czech. Guide expected a DOS character
set, and his files were in a Windows character set. The recent 'update'
includes some small fixes so that, when run in Czech, Guide will
treat his files correctly. (I'll post those once we fix some other
small issues involving getting Czech to appear correctly in Guide.)

Aside from that, I'll mention that I've posted a discussion of Guide 8
on my Web site, at...

The gist of it is that, because I want to use some new datasets that
are not quite ready yet, Guide 8 ought to be ready sometime this spring.
