There is one way - use the 16-bit version of Guide instead of 32-bit version.
There is different handling of bitmap creation and you can specify in a
dialog box the needed image dimensions. You can create only B/W, 16 or 256
color bitmaps by this way. In B/W image the legend is slightly corrupted.
