Galaxy Display

I am using both the million galaxy LEDA catalog
and normal galaxy catalog to display galaxies in
Guide 8.0. Sometimes Guide 8.0 will plot the
same galaxy twice. I am trying to find a way that
I can set not just the limiting magntiude but
both the start and end magnitudes. For
example, I would like to tell the program to
display galaxies from the LEDA million
galaxy catalog ranging from magnitude 14 to
19. This would permit galaxies from the normal
catalog to displayed up to a magnitude of 14, and
fainter galaxies would only be displayed from the
LEDA catalog. I also noticed a slight problem
with galaxies displayed from the LEDA
catalog. Sometimes the elliptical galaxy
symbols are not fully closed (i.e. they are
not smooth shapes). Also, for many of the
galaxies the size of the semimajor and
semiminor axes don't quite match up with
those from the normal galaxy catalogs.
This is seen when M51 is plotted. The LEDA
catalog seems to show a major axis that is
shorter than that shown from the normal
galaxy catalog used in Guide. Does this
actually mean that data from the LEDA
catalog concerning the major axis and
orientations of galaxies is different from that
of the normal catalogs used in Guide?
Thanks,
