[guide-user] Guide on hard -D- drive
Andrea Pelloni Jan 23, 2000
My friends, I cannot solve this problem so I ask for your help:
I have now 2 -C- interchangeable HDs each with 4.2 Gb, and 1 fixed -D-
HD with 20.2 Gb space.
I loaded Guide7 with all the added files in one of the -C- HDs, and all
the USNOA.2 in the -D- HD, added the USNO line to -Guide.dat-, and
everything is going very well.
Due to the fact that my -C- HD is interchangeable with the equal
one, I decided to put Guide7 on the -D- HD, in order to have it ready
for both -C- HDs.
To do this I copied the Guide CD in a GUIDE7 directory in -D- HD, then
tried to launch the Setup but the answer was -aborted setup-.
Then I copied all the files that were the result of the previous setup
from -C- to the -D- GUIDE directory. Then I modified -startup.mar- with
the new address in -D- HD, then launched the program from -D-.
The answer was -check the CD in E position- (where effectively it was!).
Were did I make a mistake?
Had I to cancel first the GUIDE directory from -C- before launching
Setup on -D- HD?
Have I to cancel or modify some file in Windows (I have WIN98)
Or what else?
Thank you for your help.
