Hello guide-users,
after having a look at the actual C3 coronograph images I asked
myself how Venus and Mercury would pass the sun. I started Guide 7
and made an animation.
And what happened: a comet hurried through the field of view! It is
96P Machholz which passes the sun in the early hours of 8th Jan
2002 at a distance of 2 deg. Beginning with Jan 3rd or 4th the comet
should be easily visible in the C3 coronograph images.
