Interestingly I had a look at this area and with the field centered on NGC 7731/7732 and using the current version of Guide 7 if you set either a level of 9 ( 30x arcmins) or 10 (15 arcmins) and then ask for a RealSky image it gives plate 7 for the north survey and says no plate from the southern survey covers that area, which fits with the range of the plates.

The objects I had the problem with was NGC 7731-7732. I had a level of 10. The north disk was
7. The south, 18. I think I had set the window to 30 minutes square.

    I know think I understand some of the issue. I have tried it again
and with the level at 10 and a 30 minute square window, no image appears
on the screen. However, if I go to a lower level, I see part of an image
of the edge of the plate. I can't remember if I tried a lower level
before, but I could not see a fits file in the Guide directory. I can
now.

    Do you consider it normal that Guide should show a disk if the
centre of view is not on the south plates but part of the window is?
