Hello,
This message build on message nr 1453 -> 1555
Sky & Telescope July 2001 page 65.
"..., the Hubble catalog did not constitute a comprehensive inventory of stars to its limiting magnitude; there were numerous omissions, even of stars as bright as maginitude 10."
I new a long time about the Hubble catalogs limitations. But recently I was looking for comet Linear 2001 A2 and it stroke me that even 13 Cet (SAO 128839) of magnitude 5.18 (magnitude of Dance Of the Planets) was not in it.
The only notion of the stars existence in Guide comes when you put variable stars to on and zoom in to level 6.
Questions:
1) Are there more of these examples where stars visible to the naked eye are not included in the Hubble catalog (and as a consequence not visible in Guide).
2) Is there a method to force the display of BU Cet (alias 13Cet) and other variables below zoom level 6 in Guide.
Thanks,
Tom
