Guide Users,
Can someone explain to me the GN nebula designation? When
including in the Guide 7.0 Display => Data Shown => Nebulae ON, there
appear boxes with designations such as GN 23.02.9. Some contain obvious
nebulae (Display => Isophotes checked), whereas some don't. In the Go
to => Nebula menu there is no evident way to select such objects.
Does GN mean Galactic Nebula(e)? Who created this catalog and
when? When was the last revision, if any? The designations seem to
refer to 1950 positions, not 2000; is his correct?
Thanks, Truman
