[guide-user] Re: inverted images when blinking with newest Charon
Bob Elliott Dec 31, 1969
I just ran into an interesting problem when trying to blink images with the
newest version of Charon. When I display the image initially the image is
north up, east right. (which is a nice improvement over previous versions
when used with my Apogee camera)
However when I blink a set of three images the first two of which are stored
in the images.dat file are inverted and the image last loaded into charon is
uninverted. Has anyone else run into this problem? Or is this a funny
quirk in my old 486/66?
This is a problem with the 22/Dec/99 and 28/Dec/99 versions of Charon but
not with the
11/Sep/99 version. The 11/Sep/99 version displays my images inverted and
also blinks them without problem, they are all inverted. (download dates)
My guess is that when Charon writes the corners of the image to the
images.dat file after correcting for the inversion problem it does not
remember that it made the correction.
Here is some data from the images.dat file for observations of C/1999 S4
