Swapping UOVs
Bill J. Gray May 29, 2001
Hi Yann,
It certainly should be quite possible to exchange .UOV files...
seems very odd that they wouldn't show up properly. Could you
perhaps e-mail me that .ZIPped file? I might be able to figure
out something on this end.
If the overlays were e-mailed to you in .ZIP format, then I would
have expected them to arrive correctly. If sent in their "plain"
.UOV format, there could be trouble, because the Mac might insist
on turning PC-format line terminators (carriage return-line feed)
into Mac-format line terminators (carriage return only). So it
may be well to ask your friend to e-mail the .UOVs in one big
.ZIP file.
As to Mac compatibility: aside from the current "semi-Mac
compatibility", i.e., Guide runs on assorted emulators, both
hardware and software... no, I don't expect to have a native Mac
version anytime soon. (I still hear from folks interested in a
Linux version, though, and may investigate WINE a little more
thoroughly once 8.0 is shipped.)
