uov exchanges

Yann Pothier May 28, 2001

Dear all,

Is it possible to exchange .uov files (overlays) between computers ?
A guide-user friend of mine has created overlays for Barnard dark nebulae
(with approximate shapes rather than just squares) and I have copied them
in my guide repertory. I can toggle them on and off but they don't appear
on screen, even if I am on the right place with low and high range set to
0.01 and 181...
Maybe it is because my computer configuration with Guide is unusual
(Macintosh G4 with Virtual PC emulator, maybe a binHex encoding error while
exchanging the files by e-mail) but do you think it is something else ?
I can share these files (in a zipped folder) with anyone interested.

On another point, I can also share a .tdf file (user dataset) gathering and
showing data on stellar groups or asterisms we created with some Ciel
Extreme readers (http://www.astrosurf.org/cielextreme): about 50 entries. I
would be willing to get some other .tdf files for deep sky data if some
users have created their own. Thanks in advance,

At last, will Guide 8.0 be Mac compatible ?
