Update "official" now
Bill J. Gray May 20, 2001
Hi folks,
Based on the comments I've gotten, both on and off-list, I think
I've gotten everything fixed and have just posted the update "officially"
(i.e., linked from the main page to UPDATE7.ZIP, not from NEW2.HTM to
UPDATE7B.ZIP).
Those missing bright stars were caused by a revision I made recently,
while getting ready for Tycho-2. My apologies to those who tried playing
around with the software to get those stars to appear; with the newly-posted
update, you should have no further trouble in that regard. (My particular
thanks to Masaki Kouda for pointing out that Xi UMa, a not-especially-bright
star, was affected. That was what gave me a clue as to where the trouble
was, and how to fix it.)
Berthold, about Tycho-2: At one time, both ESA and USNO were making
this CD available, and discussed this on their Web sites. I can't find
anything about it now... perhaps they've run out of disks?

eyepiece into one of them professional telescopes and do some _real_
observing."
Makes you wonder... some night at, say, Keck or the VLT... "Hey,
looks as if we've got a few minutes between planned observations here!"
