Printing problems in landscape mode are all too common, especially
with HP printers. My guess is that most of the drivers get heavily tested
in portrait mode (the way most things get printed) and landscape features
are an afterthought. Sometimes, an updated driver helps. For some
comments on a specific landscape problem (doesn't sound quite like the
legend problem you're reporting):

Andrea, I have indeed taken a bit of a look at OrbFit. In particular,
I've had hopes of using the numerical integration routines and the
routines for computing ephemeris uncertainties. The main difficulty
has been that the code is next to impossible to figure out, at least
for me. (A common problem: professional astronomers are often amateur
programmers.) I hate to turn down free source code, but in this case,
I regard OrbFit as a source of ideas rather than a source of code.
This reminds me: I updated Find_Orb on 1 April. It has some nice
new features for tasks such as automatically solving for an orbit,
computing Vaisala orbits, and a few more. Shortly, I hope to post
a version with a few more improvements, including the ability to switch
to Italian (Giuliano Pinto recently sent me the necessary file). Details
