I was using Guide7 to control my AP 1200 GTO, and it seemed to be working
pretty well. (I lied to the computer, and told it it was running an LX200.)
I switched to TheSky because I wanted to use TPoint. Occasionally I switch
back to Guide 7 and run from that (I really think Guide is a far superior
product to TheSky! If Bill comes up with something equivalent to TPoint, it
will be no contest!) I find that I cannot control the telescope from both
of the programs at the same time. I have to discontinue one before the
other will "recognize" that the telescope is up and running. I do have a
serial port that I am not using. I'm thinking of running Guide7 through one
and TheSky through the other. Then I could have the best of bother worlds!
Currently I'm having some trouble with my hand-paddle, which is being
repaired.
