Yup, that'll do it.
_However_, going to Extras... Asteroid/Comet Options... Add MPC
Comets/Asteroids, and clicking on "Click to download updated comet
data and add it to Guide", will also do the trick. (It essentially
just does automatically what you're describing doing manually.)
It is possible that you'll find that this method doesn't work,
because the MPC switched a while back from (unencrypted) http to
(encrypted) https. If so, you should download
http://projectpluto.com/tear2.exe
(about 150 KBytes) to your Guide folder. It should replace an
existing 'tear2.exe'.
Do that, and you should find that Guide can grab the comet data.
(You'll also find that it can get some VizieR and DSS downloads that
would otherwise be blocked. MPC is not the only site to switch from
http to https traffic... actually, I had to do that a while ago with
projectpluto.com.)
