Have you been following this thread? 

I still can't get Guide to use the latest gcvs_cat.dat file to work with the goto variable star hotkey (\).  It only works with the gcvs.tdf file.

I think there is some internal code in Guide that has to be updated the same way you updated the gcvs.tdf file to accommodate the extra columns of data.
