In a way Project Pluto *was* the embryo edition of Guide <g>.  I believe that may have been the incentive I needed to upgrade to a 286 though.  When I zoomed in on, say, Jupiter, I could leave my desk, step out to the kitchen, fix dinner, come back a half hour later and it would just be finished rendering the image.  I soon learned that 1) I shouldn't have done that or 2) it was finally time to upgrade the computer system.  

Much to my spouse's dismay, I STILL tend to hang on to my old systems (phones, computers) until they can't handle the new programs I need to use.  THEN I grumpily move on to something bigger and better (and more complex).  I rather miss DOS in a way -- at least you had an idea what your computer was doing behind your back.

Still use Guide tho!

That must have been the Guide Embryo edition.  I thought that I had been using it forever, but you have me beat.
We might hear from someone who used Guide on the original edition of Pong.
I do remember when the entire concept was called "Project Pluto" and it was my brother back in 1999 who convinced me that GUIDE was the way to go for serious observatory use, and he was absolutely right.  Never have looked back, tried the others and keep loving GUIDE.

Don't remember the year but I've been using Guide since before it was named "Guide".  Anyone remember using "Project Pluto"?  

I'm not sure but it MAY have been on my old Commodore 64.  My brain cells refuse to calculate how many years ago that was <g>
