I got fed up and reinstalled from the DVD. That worked and all my settings were saved. I made a backup copy of my c:\guide9 folder before I did, just in case.

I'm always a bit confused about installing from disc. When I install, I see nothing to indicate that it's working. None of the usual flood bars etc. I assume it just copies over the indicated files and ignores any that are currently in place.
