[guide-user] Bugs, updates

Bill J. Gray Jan 2, 2000

Hi folks,

I just received an update to Guide's Italian files, from Giuliano
Pinto; and an update to the Spanish files, from Alberto Romero. I've
posted these to the Web site.

Alberto has translated a big part of Guide's Help file, and Giuliano
has translated the new 'miscellaneous tables' files. You can therefore
get data concerning, say, asteroid occultations in Europe, and have
the lists show up in the correct language.

As Jari pointed out, the equation of time _is_ reported in a bizarre
format... and has been all along, for half of each year (the half during
which the EOT is negative). I'm amazed it's slid by this long... anyway,
it will be fixed in the next update.

Richard Mallett pointed out that it would be nice to have controls
over the level of detail shown for features (craters, etc.) on the moon
and planets. I will have to give this one a bit of thought, but I think
there ought to be a decent way to do that. (At present, the best you can
do is to edit PLANET10.GAZ, the list of objects shown on the moon, and
delete everything past a certain point. This is not a very user-friendly
thing to have to do!)
