However, I realized that this is _really_ out of date,
and refers to the original catalog at the Sternberg Astronomical
Institute. The version at CdS has more precise positions and
includes proper motions and some other new fields.

So use this instead :

https://projectpluto.com/gcvs.tdf

Put that in your Guide folder, along with gcvs_cat.dat, and
the GCVS data should become available.
