Re: [guide-user] Goto Object Name will not recognize UCAC4 star names

Found the problem!

In guide.dat:     UCAC4_PATH=c:\guide9\ucac4

On disk:    c:\guide9\ucac-4

Changed UCAC4_PATH to c:\guide9\ucac-4 and everything works.

Thanks, Denis, your reply made me go back to the "square 1" to check everything.  :-)

I have tried with 4U314-15926 and it works just fine. Do you seen any UCAC4 in your field of view?

Make sure they are turned on and your field of view is low enough to display them, i.e. one degree field, check you display settings to see when they will appear. if you can see some UCAC4, it proves they are turned on and it should work. Otherwise you need to find out why they are not on.

Well I'm stumped... my UCAC4 path is correct in guide.dat, user dataset is toggled on, the ucac4 path contains both the u4b and u4i subdirectories, u4b contains all 900 files, u4i contains the index files, and still when I enter a value like 4U314-15926 in "Go to Object Name", guide responds with "not a valid object".

When I use Goto TDF object, select UCAC4 and enter either 4U314-15926 or just 314-15926,  guide responds with "Object not found".

Any suggestions will be welcome!
